Learn about the tasty wonders of curtido, a lightly fermented accompaniment popular in Salvadoran cuisine. It is typically enjoyed with pupusas, the famous Salvadoran stuffed corn masa disc, but can also be enjoyed in salads, burgers, or as a simple snack. In this 2-hour, hands-on class, we will make two different kinds of curtido. Instructor, and SalviSoul founder, Karla T. Vasquez, will talk about the food history of curtido and walk participants through two recipes. Each participant will leave with two small jars of curtido to enjoy later and will leave with the confidence to make curtido a part of their diet.
Light refreshments will be provided as well.
Vegans are welcome as curtido does not utilize any animal products.
