Do you wish you had learned more Salvadoran recipes?
Many of us in the Salvi diaspora wish that we could touch the mother land more, and I know for me, Salvadoran food was the only place where I was free to be the whole me while family shared stories of life in El Salvador as we ate. If you don’t have a lot of experience cooking Salvadoran food, it’s not your fault. Relocation, being young without a lot of answers, demanding work schedules, even war and separation have made it hard for our parents to pass these recipes on to us. Our mom’s are busy people, and there aren’t many Salvadoran cookbooks. The solution is here! The SalviSoul Cookbook will be available in Spring of 2024 (Penguin Random House), until then, here are four quick recipes that will bring Salvi flavor to your table.
